Mission

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and forever! Amen.

2 Peter 3:18

The Mission

This place exists to provide quality reformed exegetical studies. Exegesis is a critical explanation or interpretation of a text. I want to provide a Bible study that walks through each book of the Bible and explains what is going on. I seek to answer questions like: How do people interpret this text today vs historically? (Historical Theology) What is the historical context? How does this text fit into the narrative of scripture? (Biblical Theology) How does this text apply to our lives? (Systematic Theology) along with many more questions.

This place also exists to provide some devotionals or quick pick-me-ups to keep you going throughout your day, week, year, or life. Devotionals are a blessing from God. We as individuals need a community that loves us to remind us of God's love for us. We simply cannot go through life alone. Devotionals help remind us that life is so much better when we are glorifying God.

This place also will also host a podcast where myself and my friend Isaac just talk about the Bible, life, theology, and so much more.

Why This Exists

This website exists because I wanted to create a place where there is a study on each book of the Bible to understand that book, and to see where it fits in the overall biblical narrative. It is a bit daunting to create a website that is going to take so long. I am working on getting a seminary education currently. I will go back and update studies as I grow in knowledge and wisdom. Thankfully, Christ meets us where we are. The studies will improve as time goes on and we continue to grow and learn together. If there is a mistake somewhere or you disagree, let's connect. I would love to dialogue about how this site can be improved.

The Great Commission

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." - Mathew 28:18-20 (NIV)

Our mission in the Christian life is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Simple right? This verse is used by many to describe the purpose of the Christian life. I find it interesting that Jesus says "teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you" There is so much more to the Gospel than just a five-minute tract. We have a responsibility to learn and study what Jesus' teachings and commands are. This goes so much further than the Gospel books (Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John). The rest of the New Testament is the story of the early church, how they understood the Gospel, how they lived their lives, and what obstacles did they face. The Old Testament is what helps us better understand the New Testament. It answers questions like, how did the world end up so broken, what is God's plan and purpose, and who is God.
